The Maltese comes from Malta, an island halfway between the coasts of Sicily and North Africa and was developed in Italy.
A Maltese is a sturdy toy dog with a silky white coat hanging straight to the ground. The Maltese does not shed and is covered from head to foot with a mantle of long, silky, white hair. Their hair is compared to carpet. An ancient breed long associated with the island of Malta, it has retained its distinct appearance for millennia. They are very lovable and often get along well with other dogs.

These toys are simply irresistible lively, playful, very intelligent, gentle, trusting and loyal to its
owner. This dog learns tricks easily when you reward with doggy treats. You'll find them to be great companion dog but also a good watchdog and one that likes other animals.
They love to play outdoors and adore gourmet food! A Maltese is a wise choice for an apartment. They are happy
indoors and can be trained to do their business on newspaper.
The Maltese personality is as appealing as its looks. It is a small dog but behaves like a big dog. It is not as hyper as many of the smaller breeds and will lie quietly for long periods in its owners arms or simply lounging on the couch, appearing very gentle in nature.
